DONATION FROM WESTERN AUSTRALIA ROTARY CLUB
Crestview Primary School was very fortunate to benefit from the Rotary Club of Hannans Literacy Project recently. The Rotary Club of Hannans allowed the school to select books for the benefit of learners to the value of AU$1000 and specified that their preferred supplier was Bargain Books.
Since most books in the school library are very dated, it was decided to use the entire amount to purchase books which the children would enjoy borrowing and where the most children could benefit. Working with Bargain Books in The Glen, we were able to purchase 134 beautiful books, half of which are non fiction and will thus assist with research which learners need to do for various subjects.
The school is currently accessioning the books for inclusion into the library and learners are waiting eagerly to borrow the books as they are being placed onto the shelves. There are even waiting lists for some of the books!
Each book has the details of the donor inside the front cover so that for years to come we will remember the generosity of The Rotary Club of Hannans who were kind enough to provide books for a small school in South Africa.
